How We're Different

When Wichita news affiliate KSN approached us in 2008 about helping build a “Susan Komen house for the Cure,” we were in. No questions asked. Having experienced the effects of breast cancer in our own family, we wanted to do our part.

We hit the ground running, designing a beautiful, unique house. The location of the home was in The Oaks, a quiet community in Derby, KS.

Our team was on site daily, helping ensure our goal of making the perfect dream house into a reality. But it became much more than that. More than 80 companies pitched in, and it brought a comradeship in the building community, a togetherness in spreading awareness as well as a true sense of satisfaction in helping others.

The sale of the house brought in more than $600,000. Approximately $250,000 of the funds were sent directly to the National Komen Foundation. But $350,000 stayed here in Wichita and helped open the doors to the Center for Breast Cancer Survivorship.
